Detailed Image Stats now Available!

Posted by Administrator on September 25th, 2007

Forumsigs Image Hosting StatsWe have update the image stats to a new version that we feel will allow you to get a better idea of who is looking at your images. It will now allow you to view more detailed stats about your images by viewing the number of hits to each image, the bandwidth that they have consumed, and also what URL they are being hot linked from.
This was due partly to the new URL format we have been using for the past few months.

If you have images that are using the new URL format;
EX: http://www.forumsigs.com/img.cfm?img=000,
then the stats will be generating for them.

If you are still using the long URL format;
EX: http://www.forumsigs.com/users/someuser/myimage.jpg,
they will not show up in the new version of stats. You will have to update your links wherever you have them hot linked at.

This new stats will continue to evolve to bring you more details that what we are displaying now. As we gather more info as time goes on, you will be able to historically research and view patterns and traffic that your images are doing.

Log into your account and see the new data.

All new users will be using this format.

Sign up today at http://www.forumsigs.com if you already don’t have an account.

If you have any questions of issues using the new stats, please feel free to contact us at support@forumsigs.com

Updated: Windows Publish to Web Feature for Vista Added

Posted by Administrator on June 5th, 2007

Forumsigs Vista UploaderMS officially stated that they removed the “Web Publishing Wizard” from Vista. This basically breaks the ability to use the Forumsigs Windows Uploaders.

So we did a bit of research and have found out what they really did with it. They renamed it to “Order Prints Wizard”. It works entirely the same as before, yet they removed the ability to resize the image during the upload.

You can get an updated version of the uploader just for Vista users in the Downloads section within the Members area once you log in.

Posted by Administrator on April 26th, 2007

You can now zip up your images that you have store here and download them locally. This is useful if you have images uploaded and you don’t have a copy locally.
It will zip up all your images, and folders, keeping the same folder structure that you have here, and once done, your browser will prompt you to download the zip file.

The link to the page is on the left menu once you log in.

Issue with Missing Images

Posted by Administrator on September 6th, 2006

AlertLast night at around 9:40 PM MST, we had an issue with one of our servers that stores users’ images. It caused some downtime where users images were not available for about 2 hours.

We were able to get all images back online at around 11:30 pm MST. Yet some users who were on that server may noticed now that some of their images are missing. This is due to us having to restore users folders that were approx. 9 hours old. This resulted in a loss of a 9 hour gap of newly uploaded images for some users ( not all users were affected ).

If you uploaded images in the time period of 12pm MST and 9:30PM MST on 9-6-06 , the image that you uploaded then may not be in your account at this time.

IF you notice that you are missing images, you may be one that is affected. Just re-upload the image again and it should be fine.
Again, this did not affect all users. It only affected about 15% of all users. Log in and check your images to verify.

If you have any questions on this, please feel free to email us at support@forumsigs.com

Thanks,

Download of the Week - FireFox Uploading plugin

Posted by Administrator on June 5th, 2006

Firefoxdragdropupload 1.5.11
Drop files into attachment boxes instead of browse for them or type in the filename.
Drop multiple files and fill all the entries.
This can be used on our site on the upload page. Instead of having to use the “browse” button, just click and drag the image to the text field for the upload box and it will list it. It also works on other sites that have an upload feature too.
